College/University: Temple University
Major/Minor: Marketing and Finance major
Year: 2018 (Freshman)
Campus Involvements: I am currently a member of the Business Honors Student Association, Art of Business/Business of Art Association, and the Fox School of Business Living Learning Community. Furthermore, I am Secretary of my residential hall’s Council. I also sell a lot of my own original artwork, from painted denim vests to skateboards, to fellow Temple students.
Dream job: Although not entirely specific, my dream job would definitely be one where I am able to combine both my passion for the visual arts and business into one. I am currently heavily involved in making my own fashion and artwork. I hope that in the near future I will be able to incorporate this passion with my studies at Temple University; this will ultimately facilitate my ability of working for a major magazine or fashion label. I plan on moving my way up the ladder to a major position of the given enterprise by professionally developing myself and dedicating myself entirely to my passion and profession.
Describe your personal style: I think that my personal style is very bold and urban, which makes sense because I both attend school and live in the large city of Philadelphia. I wear a lot of monotonous colors, but I like to brighten my outfits’ color schemes up with bold colors and funky patterned accessories. I also love experimenting with bold lip colors! That has been “my thing” recently. I enjoy trying atypical fashion trends as well because I love the challenge of having to “make something work”. Ultimately, I feel as if I will always push the boundaries when it comes to fashion. Even if my outfit may not initially be 100% in the beginning, I love working with what I have and accessorizing accordingly. My style inspirations are Beyonce, Rihanna, and MIA. I feel as if their street style is very indicative of who I am and the style that I represent.
Favorite color: Red
Favorite Bootights product: Ellevator Boot Socks in Burgundy Heather
Favorite thing about your school: I really love the diversity that Temple University has to offer. Never have I personally felt “out of the loop” as student of Indian ethnicity, and never have I heard anyone else of any other ethnicity feel that way either. I think that Temple really has a lot to offer students who are looking for an urban setting that still maintains that strong feeling of community that only a campus can truly offer. Of course, I also love the location of Temple University. Philadelphia has so much to offer, and I do not think it gets enough credit. Specifically as a creative individual, I feel as if coming to Temple and thus being more submerged within the city, has opened me up to so many artistic endeavors and opportunities that were not readily available to me prior to university. Everyone is very laid back and everyone vibes with each other at Temple! I really do love my school.
Why you love Bootights: Bootights are extremely versatile. They can be worn for purely style, can be worn for comfort and warmth, or can be worn for both at the same time! And although I wear my Bootights products on multiple occasions (sometimes even three times in the same week!) I never feel as if I am “repeating” an outfit, because they can be styled in so many different ways. I even wear them when I go to sleep because they are just so comfortable that can’t bring myself to take them off before I jump into bed! Specifically, I think that the Ellevator product is especially helpful in boosting my urban edge; I really love them!
Why you enjoy being a Bootights Campus Brand Ambassador: I enjoy being and Bootights Campus Brand Ambassador because, first of all, this position has taught me a lot of valuable information regarding the professional world of marketing, event planning, and advertising. Putting these skills into practice in conjuncture with what I am learning in class will ultimately allow me to have that edge once I am in the professional world. This position has also boosted my communication skills with people and has allowed me to have a greater awareness of what people are looking for regarding everyday fashion. That being said, I have gained a lot of personal contacts with the people that I spoke with about Bootights, which is always very awesome to have—especially during the start of my college career!
